Whether you’re a high school student beginning to explore your future or a college student preparing to enter the workforce, our internship opportunities provide a way to gain real-world insight and experience.

High School Students
At W.W. Gay, we believe strong communities are built by investing in the next generation. We’re proud to support local high school students (17 years and older) who are interested in learning more about careers in the mechanical construction industry.
Our Internship Interest Form is a simple way for students to share their contact information and express interest in future opportunities. While submitting the form does not guarantee placement or contact, it helps us stay connected with motivated young individuals who want to grow, learn, and contribute to our community.

College Students
Our College Internship Program is a 10-week, paid experience running from May through August. Interns choose from Virtual Design Construction (VDC), Project Management, or Estimating and gain hands-on experience in their field while working alongside experienced professionals.
Beyond the day-to-day work, we believe internships should be both meaningful and memorable. Throughout the summer, interns connect as a group through team activities and local outings, building relationships while gaining a real sense of what a career at W.W. Gay looks like.

Virtual Design Construction (VDC)
Step into the future of construction technology with our VDC Internship! You’ll get hands-on experience using 3D modeling and coordination tools to help bring designs to life. Work closely with our project teams to learn how digital innovation drives real-world building success.
Please note that this internship is available in person at our corporate office in Jacksonville, FL.
Estimating
Gain hands-on experience and learn the fundamentals of Construction Estimating in a professional environment. As an Estimating Intern, you’ll assist with reviewing project plans, analyzing costs, and supporting our estimating team on active bids.

Project Management
Explore the field of Project Management and build practical skills through real, hands-on experiences. As an intern, you’ll work closely with our team to support active projects, learn key project coordination techniques, and see how business initiatives come to life.
