The Giving Back Games is more than just an event — it’s a celebration of community, collaboration, and compassion. Created by W. W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Inc., the Giving Back Games reflects our deep commitment to the communities we call home.
Event Details
The Giving Back Games will feature 10 exciting game stations, each designed to test skill, coordination, and teamwork. Teams of two will rotate through these stations, earning points based on their performance. In addition to the core games, participants can compete in an optional cornhole tournament to showcase their competitive spirit! Prizes will be awarded to winners of each station and the cornhole tournament.
And don’t worry about lunch—we’ve got you covered! Two food trucks will be on-site, and your meal is included with registration. Enjoy great food while taking a break between games!
Basketball Free Throws
Feel the pressure of the free-throw line! Each team member gets 10 shots, earning 1 point per basket. Who will sink the most buckets?
Obstacle/Relay Race
Navigate the 3-cone drill as quickly as possible! Each team member’s time is recorded, and your combined time determines your team’s score. Speed and agility will be your greatest allies!
Darts
Precision and focus are the name of the game. Each team member gets 10 throws, with points based on accuracy. Bullseye, anyone?
Rock Wall Climb
How fast can you conquer the wall? Each team member is timed as they climb to the top. Not reaching the top results in last-place points, so dig deep and climb high!
Field Goal Kick
Can you kick it? Put your leg strength and aim to the test with this challenging football kick event. Each team member takes 5 kicks from increasing distances.
Soccer Goal Challenge
Channel your inner soccer star! Take 5 kicks at varying distances, with point values increasing as you move farther from the goal.
Football Throw
Test your quarterback skills! Aim for the target board featuring five holes of varying sizes, each with a unique point value. Each team member gets 5 throws, so accuracy is key to racking up points.
Whiffle Ball Distance Challenge
Step up to the plate and swing for the fences! With 3 distance markers, points are awarded based on distance, with each team member receiving 5 swings to accumulate points.
Golf Chipping Contest
Bring your A-game to this miniature golf challenge! Chip practice balls toward a net from 5 mats at varying distances. Each team member gets 5 chips, so aim for the high scores!
Optional Cornhole Tournament
For those looking to extend the fun, join the Cornhole Tournament! For an additional $75 per a team, you’ll compete head-to-head in this fan-favorite game of skill and strategy. Bragging rights—and prizes—are on the line!
Long Jump
Show off your jumping power in this classic track-and-field event. Each team member’s distance is recorded, and your combined score determines your ranking. How far can you fly?
The Giving Back Games was established to support local organizations that make a difference in the lives of our neighbors. This year, we are proud to direct all proceeds to The Healing Hearts Project, a community charity directly serving the patients and families of both Wolfson Children’s Hospital and UF Pediatric Cardiology in Jacksonville, FL who are undergoing treatment for congenital heart defects (CHD). Run by parents, caregivers, nurses and doctors in the pediatric heart community, The Healing Hearts Project is rooted with a passion for supporting and encouraging families when their child is initially diagnosed, during heart surgeries and procedures, through recovery and beyond.
Featuring competitive games, food trucks, and fellowship, this event promises to be a day of fun for a great cause. All proceeds will directly benefit The Healing Hearts Project. Join us and help make a difference!
