Wolfson Children’s Hospital Critical Care & Baptist Arrival Tower (Jacksonville, FL)

The seven-story, 250,000-square-foot Wolfson Children’s Hospital Critical Care and Baptist Arrival Tower stands as a major advancement in pediatric healthcare for the region. Five floors of the tower are dedicated to pediatric critical care, featuring 75 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) beds and a 26-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), designed to support the highest levels of specialized medical care for children and their families.

The first and second floors now serve as the hospital’s new main entrance, significantly improving public access and circulation across the campus. A second-floor skybridge connects the tower to the medical center’s parking deck, guiding visitors seamlessly into two expansive, sunlight-filled lobby levels within the entry tower. These thoughtfully designed spaces enhance accessibility and the overall patient and visitor experience.

Over the course of 17 months, W. W. Gay was responsible for the complete installation of plumbing and HVAC systems throughout the facility. This work supported the tower’s complex clinical environments and ensured reliable, efficient operation of critical building systems, contributing to the successful delivery of a state-of-the-art healthcare facility.
