Alfred A. McKethan Field UF Baseball Stadium (Gainesville, FL)

This 135,000-square-foot stadium introduced significant enhancements designed to elevate the overall Florida Gators fan experience. The transformation included a complete reorientation of the playing field to improve sightlines, as well as the creation of an open and more accessible concourse that allows for smoother crowd movement throughout the venue. Seating capacity was increased to accommodate growing attendance demands, and new shade structures were added to provide greater comfort for spectators during events. In addition, the project featured upgraded concession areas with expanded food service options, improving both efficiency and variety for fans on game day.

Beginning in February 2019, W. W. Gay delivered an extensive package of HVAC and mechanical services integral to the functionality of the new Baseball stadium. Our scope of work included the installation of all mechanical piping, ductwork, and associated equipment required to support the building’s infrastructure. This included the implementation of modern control systems designed to optimize performance, energy efficiency, and system reliability.

We provided full chilled water and heating hot water systems, ensuring effective climate control across multiple areas of the stadium. These systems support a wide range of spaces, including the newly constructed stadium clubhouse, press box, concessions and catering kitchens, premium luxury suites, and indoor batting cages. Each mechanical component was installed and coordinated to meet the unique demands of a high-capacity sports environment, contributing to a more comfortable, efficient, and state-of-the-art facility for athletes, staff, and fans alike.
