Baptist Medical Center Clay

Project Description:

The new, six story, 300,000 square feet, Baptist Medical Center Clay will serve as an extension of the Preexisting Freestanding Emergency Department.  The addition of this six-floor hospital will help make way for over 100 new beds and expand the services Baptist Medical Center Clay can offer such as specialized maternity care and cardiology.

While ground was officially broken in November 2020, W. W. Gay’s work on this project began months in advance providing VDC assistance. In addition to the preconstruction work, W. W. Gay also selected to provide all plumbing, medical gas, and HVAC piping and systems as well as new plumbing fixtures, medical gas equipment and HVAC equipment for those systems. In addition to this, W. W. Gay was able to install a new Central Energy Plant to serve the Baptist Clay Hospital more efficiently. This installation included (3) 750-ton Cooling Capacity Centrifugal Chillers, (3) 1875 GPM Cooling Towers, (4) 6000 MBH Dual Fuel Boilers, and (2) 25,000 Gallon Fuel Oil Tanks alongside associated pumps, water softeners, piping packages, and accessories. The Baptist Medical Center Clay tower officially opened to the public in December of 2022.
